I am guessing here but are you referring to the Rapid Stick. It goes by many other names but it is a USB feature which operates into your cellular system. You must have an active cellular phone account with whoever supplies cellular in your area. If such is the case then call them and see what they can do for you.

There are three types of wireless for the US for the most part. One is a very local type usually called wi-fi. Public hotspots are available if you have home service in most cases. For example ATT offers public hotspots with your home service if you remember your logon. Coffee and food and other stores offer wi-fi for customers sometimes.

For that a simple usb ethernet connector would do. They cost like $10 or so.

Then there is a usb to telephone data deal They are sometimes free with a 2 year data plan. This data will cost kind of a lot but can be used usually anywhere you can get digital phone.

Then you get into mi-fi and other exotic deals which are similar or exactly as the phone data is. Just a different box.

Some satellite systems even offer data. You'd better have a ton of money for that.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
