Need card reader driver for HP Win7 upgrade

Specs: Windows 7, 2gb
No mass storage controller driver so no 5 in 1 card reader after upgrade to windows 7. Any suggestions anyone?

Go to the link below and select your operating system. Then download all the drivers for your laptop and install them.

Did you install Windows from a full version disk or what. The drivers should not be missing.

Yep - did a full custom install from Windows 7 CD. Hp can't or won't help. I already tried them. The Hp website doesnt offer support for my laptop with Windows 7 either.

It may be that some part is before that card reader such as a pci to pci bridge. Look for any errors on device manager.

If HP has Vista drivers they should work fine.

Or use SIW to try and determine the components and then get the drivers from the chip set manufacturer.

Card readers usually connect to an internal USB header. All you need are the motherboard chip set drivers and it should work. Get SIW below.

Many thanks for all your suggestions.OtheHill might like to know that using Vista drivers was the cure for my problem.
