My sound devices have been removed/ No USB

October 25, 2010 at 17:12:59
Specs: Windows 7
I tried upgrading my RAM then got the "Blue screen of death" finding out my Toshisha Satellite A205 doesn't like mismatched ram sizes so re installing the previous 2 512MB ram that was there before. Now I have NO sound devices installed anymore and all 4 USB ports don't work. Anyone know what to do? I've already tried a Windows update, disabling the USB devices and letting them be found on restart, but still nothing. I even tried a downloading a Windows 7 driver from Realtek but it installs but doesn't show as a device.

I've already tried a restore point but I reinstalled windows 7 aslo and now my restore points are all after the fact. I've tried disabling the usb ports then restarting and had no luck. I can't even do that with the sound device because there isn't even one showing to disable.

You may have damaged the motherboard. A lesson learned, next time you try upgrading, try a site like
http://www.crucial.com/
and run their scanner

What you may want to do is tap f8 on bootup and select 'repair my computer'

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
