My RAM diappeared and PC got slow

Specs: Windows 7
Hi,

I recently installed an OSX Lion 64-bit transformation pack on my 32-bit PC. My PC crashed and I could not log on because only a black screen appeared with a cursor.

I logged in with Safe Mode and made a System Restore (I made a restore point the night before I installed the transformation pack) and it seemed like my computer got slower.

I noticed that 1 GB ram disappeared, so I reinstalled my ram modules and now I have 2 GB ram like I had before, but my PC is still much slower.

I can't even play online games because my ping is 300... Before the transformation pack was installed it was 20-30.

Anyone has a possible idea what can I do?
(I don't want to reinstall windows because I host a server and I would lost my IP which is known by many players.)

Theme/Trans packs come in a 32-bit & 64-bit versions for a reason, why would you try to install a 64-bit theme on a 32-bit OS? If you're only running 2GB RAM, I wouldn't expect your system to be blazing fast. Adding the Trans pack would likely increase the overhead & slow the system even more.

It would help to know your complete system specs. I assume you're running Win7 SP1, it's fully updated & you have all the latest drivers installed? Do you have an actual video card or are you using onboard graphics? There's generally not much you can do about ping but are you sure the Trans pack you tried to install was clean & didn't leave anything behind when you uninstalled it - malware for example?

It wouldn't hurt to run MalwareBytes freebie on it just to see if it unearths anything. It often finds what your normal AV will miss:

(green button top right).

If it finds anything then copy/paste the log on here so that we can see what is going on. In that case almost certainly more malware clearing attention would be required.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
