Specs: Windows 7, intel i5 2,67g 4 gig ram
My money98 is suddenly giving me issues on my P/Bell. It has worked on my 64 bit system no hassle. Suddenly in Feb 2011 when I press "investments" the headings start disappearing, then program locks up. Reinstalled money98 with back up from july 2010. Posted all my lost work no problem. The moment I try post Feb 2011 work it bombs again. Any suggestions. I Have checked for virus but found nothing

One of two problems come to mind here.
One is that the program is so old that it's Y2K patch that was made to the '95 version (probably not completely rewritten) was never intended to make it work for more than an additional 10 years over the 'year 2000' conflict. They may have arbitrarily said that another 10 years should more than be enough and programed into it that any date before Feb. year 11 (otherwise taken as 1911) was to be considered as after Dec. year 99 (1999) and you just reached that limit.
The second possible thing is that a recent Windows 7 update has made the program's access to system components more restricted and is causing the problem. If the second one is the cause, running it in compatibility mode may help, if it is the first one, nothing will really help and you may have to finally purchase a replacement program.
You may also want to Google around for others still are trying to run the same combination and are having similar problems.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Thanks fingers
I feel it is a date related issue, as per your first option. It is odd that if I roll back to June 2010 and repost the detail it works fine until Feb 2011. All other systems/programs work fine. I have tried the 2004/5 work around but I have had such hassels trying to get my 98 backup to load in 2004/5 version. I have traded with 98 for many years, so there is a major amount of info I need to transfer but seem to be stuck. Do you know how to tell if the program is a US or UK ver. It would seem this is important if you are trying to migrate to a later version? Thanks again

Hi Fingers...some more info from Microsoft
On Jan. 31, 2011, all online services and assisted support for all versions of Money end.
File conversion from older versions of Money. The Sunset versions are able to open and convert Money Plus files and files from older versions of Money (e.g. Money 2006, Money 2007). The Sunset version cannot convert files created by regional (non-US) versions of Money .

This info does not explain why my version of money which is not online dependant mysteriously does not work in Feb 2011. My money is an international version, so how can I convert my 98 backup to work with the new sunset version???

I have not used the program myself, maybe you should repost the problem in the Office Software forum and hope someone who has experience with the program will be looking there. Sorry.
