My laptop will not start in any mode. Help?

Specs: Windows XP
I keep getting the error "DRIVER_IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL", but I cannot actually get past the "starting" windows screen. I do not have or cannot find the "last known good configuration" option. My laptop was running fine before and I do not have the installation dvd.

try a factory restore or a hidden system restore.
you will have to tap a F key at boot, depends on which model and which manufacturer..check from the instructions or the website for factory reset.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Figured it out; it works fine now (except for freezing when I try to log in in normal mode, but I think that's due to the face registery system).

If you can log into safe mode, do a system restore to a date before the problem began. This will eliminate software, driver,Windows updates, registry, and system file corruption from possible problems.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
