my gateway NV5915h laptop won't start up

Specs: Windows 7, intel pentium P6200 / 4GB memory
started gateway. Booted to allow sign and then went black screen. Cursor on screen and working

Try to manually shut down and try starting again, sometimes this is all you need to do.
Do a start up repair from a Windows 7 install disk, repair disk, recovery disk or your recovery console/recovery partition (not factory restore). You can make a System Repair Disk (if you have not already) on a blank CDr disk from any working Windows 7 machine of the same type (32bit or 64bit) and use that.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
