My Gateway all in one, turns on and off randomly by itself!

Specs: Windows 7
After signing up with a software repair plan, I was told after diagnostics, it was not a software but rather a hardware problem! Now I don't know what it could be or how much it would cost to repair or if it would even be cost effective to repair or replace?

Sounds more like you got scammed and the hacker put a virus on your computer. What software repair plan did you sign up for?

I would look at doing a system restore from a point previous to you installing the supposed diagnostic software.

Presumably this started happening before the software, and that's what prompted the software install. In which case, the power switch is probably bad.

More history would be helpful to diagnose it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Could be that it's full of dust and overheating.

Could be a number of things.

Your best bet is to get someone who knows about computers to look at it for you, perhaps a local "mom and pop" computer store.
