Solved my dell laptop won't charge

Specs: Windows 7
My laptop got contaminated by water -i dried it and left it to next day. it is out of battery and it won't charge even when i plug it in the red`light of the battery doesn't show. I tried turning it on it started but then stopped because of lack of power.

Remove the battery and see if the laptop runs OK. If not, the problem is internal and not about the battery not charging. If so, then perhaps replacing the battery is the fix.

How lng did you leave it to dry, and where/how did you go about it?

it can take quite a while to dry out what is in some degree a closed system/box. Removing all covers on the base, is essential; even the base cover itself if possible.

Standing the unit on blocks or something to allow air to circulate underneath is important too; as is blowing a gentle stream of clean air through the unit. One could use hair dryer on its slowest speed and cool (no heat) setting, and at a wee distance.

Another option is to obtain some silica gel and put the stripped down unit into a closed container with the silica gel, and leave it a day or so at a warm room temperature. Dry raw rice is sometimes suggested if silica gel isn't available. If the latterr then wrap the rice in some paper towel or tissues too, so as to minimise possibility of it getting inside the unit.
