Howzit, I am currently deployed in Afghanistan at this moment, so I really don't have a good place that I can call for any technical assistance. I have a problem with my computer, it won't allow me to have Admin permissions even though it says that I do. If I try to do something, it requires or asks me to run it with Admin permission? Which I cannot do. My firewall is down and it won't allow me to turn it on. I have Error Codes: 0x80070424 and 0x80070425, pop up when I try to go into properties and assume Admin permissions. I can't access the wireless internet and it doesn't allow me to access a lot of other features on my computer. Can you or anyone assist in this urgent matter PLEASE (This is my morale buster...). Thank you in advance.

This sounds like a virus to me. I would try downloading and installing Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and running it. Remove anything it finds.

Might try to boot in safe mode. I agree that it may be a malware. You could be a target even for that.

Put this on a flash drive an use it. http://www.spi.dod.mil/lipose.htm

Might try to get windows working by safe mode and a good security suite. I prefer Microsoft's Security Essentials but you need on or more apps to help protect your data.

RMT2,
Appreciate the info, I will try... Negative, it won't allow me to even get on the internet. I do believe you are correct though, I definitely have some virus. Thanks again.

Jefro,
Thank you for responding to a desperate call, I will try it also. I know this virus I have won’t allow me to access some of the USB drives and will need to find a computer that will permit me to plug in a thumb drive (I’m on a military computer, they don’t allow any externals of any kind). I will get back with you on the results when I am complete, Thanks.

You boot to the usb. Someone else can make it.

If you are on a military computer then send it in for repairs.

The DOD file I posted a link to is an authorized file by the Department of Defense. You work for them.

All I said was I got what you’re saying and I understand now. Apologize, will refrain from military terminology. Thanks agian.

You could look around in the settings in IE and Firefox and check if a Proxy was enabled. Just disable it and you might be able to get internet access on your PC.

What is the browser you use to go online? What program do you open? Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome?
