My computer will only work right in safe mode

November 8, 2011 at 15:40:55
Specs: Windows 7
I have a Sony Vaio that I've had for not even a year. I logged in one day and for some reason, it just stopped responding to everything. It would work for a little while and then it would just stop. Ctrl+Alt+Delete didn't even work. I was forced to shut it down by pushing the button. I've done everything. I've restored the computer, gone to the msconfig and took things off that automatically start up when I log on, everything. Though I will say that when I try to delete my cookies and history, the history is still there. I don't know if that has anything to do with anything, but for some reason it's not deleting. I have plenty of memory on my computer, so that shouldn't be the problem. Please help if you can, I'm a high school student also taking college classes, so I definitely need my computer for many things and many assignments so I can't really afford to have this happen. :/

If it's still under warranty, take it to where you bought it. If it's not under warranty., run msconfig & disable all, click apply, ok, reboot, click ok again & see what happens.

If it runs only in Safe Mode it could be a driver issue. From Safe Mode go to Device Manager and see if any errors are showing. If so Delete the appropriate sub-folder from there and reboot.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
