Specs: Windows 7
I cannot get my desktop computer to connect to the internet. My laptop connects wirelessly and works and if I go though the modem via laptop it will work on the laptop. On the desktop, I have tried ipconfig/renew and get "No operation can be performed on Bluetooth Network Connection while it has its media disconnected." I have tried ipconfig/all (DHCP Enabled: No). Please Help!

it maybe that your modem is limited to only give 1 ip address or allow only one user, it may also require that you input the mac address of each machine using the modem, you will have to log into the modem/router to verify these points, can any other machines connect,? can your laptop connect via cable ( you do not say how you are trying to connect from your desktop) unless your trying to connect via BT, in which case you may need to setup your modem BT to accept incoming connections.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

When exactly did your desktop PC stop connecting to internet ?

Is your desktop PC OS upgraded to Win 7 or did it come pre-built with Win 7 ?

Check your modem to see if DHCP enabled or not. If disabled you have to input all parameters in to your PC manually.

Do you have a wireless NETWORK card installed? From your comments it appears you are trying to connect to the internet through a Bluetooth device that is generally not used for internet and if your wireless router is typical WIFI wireless interface, you need a wireless card with spec's like "802.11n Wireless PCI Controller Card" installed.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
