Put the Logitech Software CD that came with the Device if you still have it, can you get on to windows?

I am a hardware guy not a software guy but i try to help.

Uninstall the driver/software and check online if there is a Windows 7 version available. If not then do not use it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Change boot order priority to HDD in BIOS if it points to CD-ROM drive. This may relieve you of doing startup repair every time you boot up. Worth a try. If it works, you may then try to resolve the issue.

What do you mean a while ago? If not too far back, consider a restore point.

Hang up and live.
