download speedfan (its free) monitor your temps.
try a system restore to a date before the issue started.
do a disk check.
mem test
once you have done these things let us know if its still happening.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Post these results and your system specs (make, model, any modifications to hardware, etc) for additional help including if this is a desktop, laptop, netbook, etc.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Temperatures in Speedfan or in BIOS, please post those also. You probably have a build up of dust in your laptop and need to clean it out, get a can of dust-off or similar compressed air and blow it into all openable ports and out the normal vents, then vacuum the normal vents. and close up. Recheck the temps and see if they are more normal. Normal should be 30's or low 40's C at idle and 40's or low 50's under load. Make sure you always use the laptop on a hard surface so the vents are not blocked and you reduce fabric lint you may intake as well. If you must use on a bed or 'lap' then use a lap desk or cooling pad made for this purpose.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
