my computer freezes temperaraly when booting

Specs: Windows 7
i need help imy computer used to start up fast but then i installed drivers to my motherboard and now when it boots it goes to the motherboards name or something like usual then stops there then i have to wait about 5mins for it go leave that screen and work normaly i need help on fixing this problem because waiting 5 mins after i restart my computer for updates is just bothering me

If you installed the drivers for your machine recently, you may restore your machine to a time before you installed the drivers.

If this machine is pre-built by a reputable company like HP, Acer, Dell, etc., you can do a factory reset. Please just read the documentation that came with your machine.

If you cannot do anything immediately to put your machine back to previous state, do not worry. This is the way to learn about computers. Soon you become a serious computer guru. No kidding.

i can't do a factory reset because i built the computer myself i just don't know if i have a virus some how or did the driver installation just mess up my computer

You can use Windows own utility System Restore.

You can install Microsoft Security Essentials if you do not have any other AntiVirus program and scan your computer with it. MSSE is a very good AV program free to Windows home users.

i am using avast! and i didn't say i caught anything should i just put in the windows 7 cd in and just restart?

What is your purpose in putting Win 7 DVD and restarting ? To restore to an earlier time or repair Win 7 or what ?

kinda just restore to an earlier time i would use system restore but it set it's self to save before i installed a security update today plus it might help i'm not sure
