My company upgraded to Nero 10 from Nero 5.

Nero 10

Specs: Windows 7, ?
I used to could put a cd-r disc in and it would find any files which were already burned into that disc, and if that file had been upgraded, then it would reburn the upgraded version. Nero 10 will not do that. You have to burn a new cd-r(that gets expensive and takes up a lot of space in your file drawer) or it keeps asking for a cd-rw. My IS dept. has been real busy and have not been able to help me. I'm not real computer literate, but what am I doing wrong. Thank you in advance for helping me. Windows 7 in my operating system.

I am not familiar with that version of Nero. That said, if the software is asking expressly for RW media I think your are using InCD, which is a packet writing program that comes bundled as part of Nero.

Packet writers are useful for instant backup of individual files and the data can be updated. Hence the rewritable media.

What you need to do is look for the rest of the Nero package. It should look and feel familiar to you.

Go to program files> Nero. Browse the folder. There may be many different programs inside. I think what you used to use is probably Nero burning rom. Try the help files in Nero or go to their site.
