monitor text not visible with white backgroun

Specs: Windows 7, 3gb
The text on the monitor of my laptop is not visible when i change the background picture to a white one. But with other colour background the text is visible. I think there is some setting to be done which i am not getting. Actually with that settings the text will become boundary lined with black colour so that the text is visible with any background colour. Please anyone help me with this..

If you change your desktop to a white background, after you log off and the log back in Windows 7 should automatically change the text color of the icons on your desktop.
