Hello all
I am having a problem with my back up witch i want to do it on an external drive. This drive is an 250 gig and is empty so the room is no problem. Every time the back up starts i get the following message after about 2 minutes in the back up: ( A shadow copy could not be created. Please check VSS and SPP Insufficient storage available to create ether a shadow copy or storage file )
My drive i want to put it in is clean and has been formatted to make sure.

The insufficient storage being referred to is probably on the drive that you are trying to back up. How big is it and how much free space does it have?

I wrote that down in my first post. 250 gig and nothing on it. It is also formatted in NTSF

NO, He is referring to the drive you are backing up, not the destination drive. The Shadow Copy (temporary) of files currently being used is made on your C drive or possibly the source drive is not the same.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Exactly. The problem is with the drive you are backing up from, not the one you are backing up to.

Google "A shadow copy could not be created"; you'll find lots of reading matter.
