I'm not trying to be unhelpful but you would be better off talking directly to McAfee about this one. They almost certainly will have a forum too if you google around.

He is right, they are the best place to find a solution for a software that you have paid good money for and they know the product best.

If you had an older install of the program, you might have to uninstall it and then reinstall it. Sometimes uninstalling in the normal manner does not remove all traces of it, but you can download the uninstaller from McAfee's website to help remove it more completely before reinstalling it.

On a side note, I personally (and many here would agree) that you have wasted money for a product that will slow your system down and is not as good as product that you could purchase for less or even free. I would recommend Avast (free if you register it, or pay for), and Webroot (pay for) as better than McAfee or Norton, with less demand on system resources.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
