this could be a malware or a virus. try scanning ur computer with malwarebytes, u have to download it, so a quick google search will do

Mcafee was working for about 6hours yesterday after downloading alarmzone and restarting then lastnight got the same "computer is at risk" an mcafee firewall was off again an turns on for a split second then turns off. Windows firewall still throws the same error code (0x8007042c). Malwarebytes didnt find anything wrong. Downloaded 3 "important" windows updates this morning but its still playing up.

mmm thinking about this again. u have two firewalls in ur system the macafee firewall and the windows firewall. this could be a reason that these two firewalls are conflicting with one another. go to run and type in services.msc and set firewall to automatic(if its set leave) another thing is that u have 2 firewalls in ur system and one must be removed try removing mcaffee antivirus and turn on the windows(firewall)
then download a new antivirus i suggest avira free antivirus

I agree, McAfee if probably interfering with Windows firewall and Windows firewall is probably not properly disabled. I STRONGLY recommend that you uninstall McAfee, Install Avast, and then make sure Windows firewall is then turned on. McAfee is overrated as is Norton and both should be avoided and you can get Avast for free and it is better as is Windows included firewall.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
