Manually create thumbs.db files in windows 7

Windows 7 uses local thumbnail cache for folders with images but they aren't portable like the thumbs.db files in windows xp. I have folders with thousands of images that I share and move a lot. so is there a way to manually make thumbs.db files or something similar in these folders to speed opening (usually when burning them to CDs)?
