make word documents open separetly from IE (open with popup)

Specs: win 7, n/a
Im on win 7, IE 8, when I open a link of .doc in IE it opens with quick view plus, opening in new tab doesnt help, and in win 7 the folder option doesnt have advance button to change the type extension, any ideas

Do you have Microsoft Office installed on your computer?

Why do you want to change the extension? I'm not sure what you mean by "it doesn't have advance button to change the type extension." There is no advance button that changes type extension.

I have office 2007, what i was referring to is an article from microsoft but it works only for xp

try right clicking on the documment link on the webpage and select Save Target As. After it downloads, can you open it with Word?
