long boot black screen flashing cursor

Specs: Windows 7
installed new graphics card in my asus cg5275 store bought computer. now im having booting issues with a black screen and flashing cursor. eventually the computer boots up but it takes one to two minutes on average. im kinda new to the computer thing and is an interesting hobby to me know and i am willing to learn from anyone. but as far as my knowledge goes for now i thought adding a new graphics card would boost the performance of my pc. ati radeon 5770 all new drivers installed ran driver sweeper and found nothing useless. please help

Boosting the graphic performance when the computer is running, however it will not boost the boot up speed.
check in your msconfig, startup section, uncheck all non-essential startup programs and apps,
open device manager and uninstall your video adapters then reinstall,
check in bios that your machine is set to run pcie as first video.
check that your card is set to run at recommended resolution with your monitor.
stop all the video card apps that are trying to startup, helpers, updaters, overclock, conflicting setups,
if all that fails.
take out the card, put in the old card, reboot, then shut down and replace with the new card again, use the windows drivers.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
