Links open in new tabs instead of new window

Specs: windows 7 x64 ultimate sp1 ie9, core2quad 2.33ghz 6gb ram
My HD crashed last week and I had to get a new one and start fresh. I've got everything back on the way it was before but I've noticed something different when I click links on the web.

Now when I click a link, it now opens it in a new tab on the same window page that the link was in instead of opening a completely new window for that link. Interent explorer 9 is the browser I'm using on Win7 Ultimate x64 SP1

I was wondering if there was anyway to change the settings to make it open links in new windows instead of tabs. Wasn't sure if there was like a setting where I could toggle a check box or something to go back and forth from one to the other?

It's not a huge deal but for some sites or cashback sites, I prefer the links opening up in the new window instead of a new tab on that same page.

I've tried searching google but haven't really found anything that is answering my problem.

Thanks for any help

Tools (or Cog)>Internet Options>General Tab>Tabs>Settings. There are 3 choices, just choose the one you want.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Thanks for that. I was actually looking at that today but overlooked that part of the settings. I appreciate again, thanks!
