Lenovo Laptop y450 says battery plugged in, not charging

Specs: Windows 7, duo core T6600 2.2GHz/ 2.0GB
i have a lenovo y450, when i was playing a game it suddenly went off - it had done this before as usuall i pluged in and booted, this message poped up "pluged in not charging" when i moved the cursor over the battery icon.

Re-calibrate the battery first and run your laptop on it. If the problem remains, try the solutions below.

Find a spare charger and try to charge your laptop with it.

If your problem still persists, then check for a BIOS update.

battery re-calibration requires one to first charge the battery to 100% and then drain the battery but the battery won't go past 6%. pliz i realy need help. thanks

Did you try a spare charger ?

Sometimes you have to leave the charger on for more than 24 hours.

If still no go, then you may need a new battery pack.

Smart charging circuitry inside the laptop may have failed too. Who knows. This means you should find an equivalent laptop to put your battery in and test if it is in good condition.

yes, but it is so tiresome it takes 24 hours to gain one persentage. after 24 hr charge it is now on 7% pluged in not charging.
