Specs: Windows 7
My acer laptop can connect to my router but not the internet. I have tried to connect with the cord but that wont work either. It's brand new, i don't see why it wouldn't work.

Is it the laptop, that is brand new, or is it the router, you're using?
Have you configured the router correctly, to connect to your internet service provider?

Post the output of ipconfig /all for review.

There is no need to check if it connects to other routers if is connecting to yours.

Paulsep is on the right track, it sounds like you don't have your router configured properly to connect to your broadband modem.

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options> Internet Properties> Connections> LAN settings.
Check Box for Automatically detect settings
UnCheck Box for Proxy Server

See if that works.
