Laptop stuck on infinite loop.

Specs: Windows 7, AMD Athlon 64 XS Dual Core Processor 4600+ 2.40GHz 4 GB RAM
Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite P505 (not the same as my listed PC) with Windows 7 home premium, nearly every time I shut it down and start it back up it gets to the Toshiba screen and shuts back off and repeats this continually. I have restored it several times and it still does the same thing when I shut it down on a fresh restore. Anyone know what might be causing this?

Do you have W7 CD?

Can you get into Safe mode?

In the meantime, try this.

Remove memory / ram sticks & clean the contacts. If multi sticks, try just one stick to test.

Is the restore the system restore from within windows or the factory restore after booting to the recovery partition? And the restore doesn't make any difference even for a few bootups?

@Johnw - I will try those and get back to you.

@DAVE - Full factory reset and no difference at all. Which leads me to believe it is a hardware problem, but eludes me as to which. All restoring and reinstalling windows really does is allows me to boot windows, once the computer is shut off the problem reoccurs.

Yeah, it seems to be hardware. If cleaning the ram sticks doesn't help it may be the hard drive.

Do you have the charger attached while booting up and is the battery in good condition (as far as you know)?
