Laptop restarts automatically after shutdown

December 30, 2010 at 18:48:33
Specs: Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit
Every time i try to shut my Toshiba laptop it will go through the entire process of shutting down (fan and all lights turned off) and then about 5 seconds later it will restart automatically. I've tried force shut down in cmd but that wont work, i dont think its a virus either. The only way i can shut my laptop down is to hold down the power button until it cuts the power (or taking the battery out).

Can anyone help me? I did install some windows updates and a game but the problem didnt show up directly after i installed those programs.
I dont know what to do, sometimes my laptop shuts down/hibernates just fine but usually it automatically restarts.

are you connected to the internet at all times?
try without the cable/wifi switched on.
if it works with internet then go into device manager and stop your modems from waking the system.

in device manager you can stop all items from waking the syetem, but leave mouse and keyboard of course.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
