Laptop overheat & shutoff while playing game

Specs: Windows 7
hi
i'm having a DELL laptop with 4GB RAM,500GB HDD,1GB ATI Graphic Card........
Recently WHen i was playing game (BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM) ,it started heating up
and I faced a sudden shut down after 2 hours or so!!!!!!!!!
IS my problem - HEATING UP???
IF yes,,,,,,, suggest something to avoid IT!!!!!!!!

If its overheating then depends how much and what's causing it. Laptop should (ideally) be positioned so air can flow all round it (especially underneath) - you can buy cradles that allow this. If you have a faulty mobo/processor that's overheating whatever you do (assuming its not simply the cpu fan that's the problem - but if it lasted 2 hours, unlikely) - then you need to replace offending item (this likely to be expensive). You say it was 2 hours before shutting down - which does suggest its not overheating quickly. Were you playing the game all that time or did the problem happen shortly after starting game?

2hrs. suggests that you maybe using and old beta or illegal win 7, could that be it? if its overheating, blow out all the vent with compressed air and vacuum the vents..also 2hours of 100% video and cpu activity is a lot for any laptop, maybe you take a break after an hour or so..

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

MY WINDOWS is 100% GENUINE
YA i was playing the game all that time!!!!!!AND even the game is really heavy one!!!!!
