Specs: Windows 7
I have had my del laptop for about a year and a half. everything has ben fine, but earlier today, my cat walked acros the keybaord, and now, as you may be able to se, it won't alowe me to type double leters or even backspace. i've given up trying to corect my typing so i apologize for the erors. i did some research and found some people with similar prolbems, but they were al with newer laptops. ive never had this problem before and i am prety sure it's the result of my cat probably hiting a key or something. regardles, i do not know how to fix it. i cant scrol using the aros, type properly, or even backspace. i can't even highr my volume. can anyone help me?

First try System restore to any date before the incident (preferably a few days or a week). If that does not work, uninstall the keyboard in device manager and restart, that should allow windows to reinstall the drivers. The cat probably hit a strange combination of keys like ctrl+Shift+something else and you could look all day and not find the options to correct it directly. One of these should help. In the future, put the system into sleep if you walk away for a few minutes (or close the lid), Hibernate if for longer, and shut down for hours or overnight.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I restarted my laptop before receiving a reply and it fixed the problem, but thank you!

Turning my Acer netbook all the way off and then back on seems to have fixed the problem.
