Laptop harddrive is locked and i forgot password

Specs: windows 7
when i turn on my asus windows 7 notebook it asks to input password to unlock hard drive and i forgot the password
hellp plz wat do i do?

You need to contact the manufacturer and be prepared to prove ownership.

If you created a password for the hard drive in the BIOS there is no way to access it. The manufacturer has no method for unlocking passwords or retrieving them at the hardware level. Even full proof of ownership will not help in this case.

BIOS level passwords have been problems on all laptops. I have seen many users that have password protected the drives and when the PC dies they are unable to access the files. There is no simple method to fix this problem.

If the files are critical then contact a recovery company and be prepared to spend a couple thousand dollars for the files.

I did ASUS warranty service and they had no instructions on clearing hard drive passwords.

I find it hard to believe that anyone can forget a password they need every time the computer is turned on!
