Hello everyone, i have been reading some of the forums about random lag spikes while playing online games, but mine is a strange problem. Im not using wireless, im using ethernet cable straight from my router. The problem i am getting is that everytime i play HON or COD6 every about 30 sec or 40 secs i get a random lag spike. When im not playing games my net is fine no lag spikes wat so ever. I have tested this becuz i was pinging google repeatedly in the background and i watched as it goes from about 38ms to near 2000ms. I need help is so annoying trying to play games. But sometimes at night it wont do it at all but most of the time it does. HELP??????

It could be simply a band width issue. If you are using a cable HS connection, you should know that it is a shared connection with many of your neighbors. If the problem arises during peak usage times for either internet or TV, the cable company equipment may be trying to share evenly, and with online games, you are probably using a high share already, so your packets are being delayed. But during off hours, or when you are being classed as a 'light' user, you have priority. If this is the case, there is not much you can do short of getting a dedicated line.
