Solved Keyboard/mouse stopped working, need some help

January 14, 2019 at 12:26:04
Specs: Windows 7 home, Intel Pent., cpu g630, 4.00 GB, 64 bit
I have two computers networked. Comp 1 (this one) Win 7 Home, the keyboard and mouse stopped. I tried different USB slots to no avail.

Connected keyboard to other comp, win 7 Ultimate and it worked fine.

Went back to this comp and wouldn't work so I shut it down, holding power button in, and when it came back up all was good.

Anything I can do for this problem?

Keyboard and mouse not working in Windows 7 (desktop), even in safe mode.
The keyboard does work in the BIOS

"holding power button in, and when it came back up all was good"

Holding the button is exactly what needed to be done. And unless this issue happens with regularity, it's probably just a glitch. What were you doing just before it happened?

Yes, keep and eye on it - these sort of things sometimes happen without it being possible to pin down the cause. If it happens regularly then its a different ball game.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Rider, I was working in Quark Xpress, maiking a form. Ironically, the keyboard, mouse, in the other computer stopped working also. Thot I was in the Twilight zone. lol

All is well now. and thanks to all for the valuable info. Will keep it for the next time it happens.
