Keyboard error

Specs: Windows 7
I have a toshiba A200 laptop with windows 7 loaded. My computer is suffering from a very peculiar problem. My laptop’s keyboard stopped responding completely all of a sudden and it seemed that only the top arrow key was pressed from the inside. This made it impossible for me work, even with the usb keyboard as it naturally shuttled me at the top of every menu I opened or wherever I clicked. Even during the boot up to windows is accompanied with CPU sounds(the ones we get when we attempt to interrupt by pressing unnecessary keys). What I found out was that this problem was there even outside the scope of windows, in the Bios selection menu and OS selection list. It continues to haunt me even when I disconnect both the laptop keyboard and usb keyboard. Could there be an issue with my motherboard? Just to make my laptop work, I have tweaked the registry by nulling the value broadcasted by the ‘top arrow key’, it did help but the boot up continues to remain a nightmare. I would be very grateful if somebody could suggest me something useful. Thank You.
