the best thing to do would be to contact Sky and get them to help you.

If SKY79282 is your Sky router's SSID (the name it broadcasts when on wifi) the password may be on the base of the router; and also "would" have been on a card included in the box when you received the router kit.

Incidentally if you log into the sky default web-address for your router (usually 192.168.0.1 - or 192.168.1.1) and then if needs be use the login / password combination - admin / sky - you will then be able to go to the wireless section and locate/view the password there.

Once you do recover it it stick a reminder on the base of the router?

If it's not on the base of router, or in the box..., or you're not able to view it as just above, then you will need to contact Sky for help.

Worst case scenario... you reset the router to factory/delivery status from Sky; and the again use the above web address etc. to gain access and view the password. Note if you do a reset routine then any wifi or other settings you made when you received the router will all be lost. You will have to re-enter those...

However I wouldn't go there until all else has been tried. Simply accessing the router wifi setup area as above is all you need to to discover the password.... It's all I ever had to do...; with both Sky provided routers and my own...

You "will" need to connect to the router from a computer - and ideally using an ethernet/cat-5 connection to do the above look-see etc via the web-page style address. Although it can be done via wifi - if wifi is working of course and the computer is already able to connect via wifi.

And this is the Sky support what to do - essentially as I've outline above; but with more detail in the Sky explanation.

You don't need to change your password; merely look at the settings to discover it again.
