Microsoft Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit

Specs: Windows 7 32 bit
I am having issues with a DOS based program where when the signal comes in, the pc speaker sounds continuously until an operator intervenes in alarm software. DOSBOX is not a viable solution. I can't find much online to help me. We have adapted the program to run in windows and it does so very well in all versions except for this one issue with the pc speaker taking over and we need a solution.

I doubt we can fix it unless we know more.

What program are using, what signal, why can't you use dosbox, how did you adapt it.

I wrote that wrong. It's not when a signal comes in it's whenever a dos program accesses the pc speaker that it continuously sounds therefore making the pc speaker unavailable to the alarm software. The programmers who wrote the software made the revisions to allow it to run in the different windows operating systems so I cannot answer how the revisions were made. All I know about DOSBOX is the boss said he tried that and it did not work. He said its an issue with the way Win 7 handles the sounds to the PC speaker and it was never an issue in any other windows operating system. This software has been on the market since 1978 and there has never been an issue that our company could not resolve until now.

I hate to say this but we still run quite a large number of dos computers. Why not just go back to that?

Still, I can't help much from the brief description.

Other choices may be to try all of the common virtual machines.
