Specs: Windows XP, 2.793 GHz / 1006 MB
Hi,
I want to do a clean install of Windows 7 (32-bit), and I had run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from the Microsoft website and there were no issues except the integrated video card in my system does not support Windows Aero, I really want to install Windows 7 on my PC and I want to know that, is there any cheap 256 MB AGP interface card available for my "Intel Desktop Board D865GLC"? If not then which AGP cards will be compatible with my motherboard and that supports Aero.
Please help! It's Urgent!

You will ideally need 2GB Memory probably an ATi X1xxx Series will be the best but ATi only support up to Vista Aero Standard.

Also Intel does not officially support Vista/7:

If your processor is relatively modern, you may be able to purchase a new motherboard with integrated graphics for around what you will have to spend (or at least be able to get a modern graphics card to fit) though you might need newer memory cards to fit it. For example, if you have a later P4 socket 775 CPU or a pentium D and basic DDR2 memory, you can get a board for $50. without trying very hard (and that board will accept a faster CPU later like many of the Core 2's)

EDIT: Sorry, I just double checked and your board and processor uses the '478' socket, so the above advice will not really help you. Consider saving the money on Windows 7 and just purchase a new system when you can.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

agp cards are practically give aways now, are you sure you have a agp slot, it may be 16x pcie, check what slot you have.
check ebay for agp cards new ones are very cheap, also increase your memory to 2 Gb, 1 is a min for win7 to run well.
you dont need aero, it just makes things look a little sweeter, but you can get similar effects from just changing the theme with a theme patch..

but cant help myself....

Have you seen the 'Intel Desktop Board D865GLC'? It's user guide says that it has AGP 3.0 support. So, what type of AGP cards will my motherboard support? Go and look it up in google, yahoo, bing etc. then reply back to me.
