Microsoft Windows 7 professional - upgra...

Specs: Windows 7 64b, toshiba satellite/4GB
I have tried to install the most recent set of MS updates (16 total, at 156 MB) and everytime I do, I get an AVG virus warrning. When the system goes to restart, I get a blue screen saying Windows cannot restart. I run the repair and restore screen that comes up and it will restart. What I want to know is this an issue with the updates, or my system? Is anyone else having this issue?

Don't know of anything personally on Win 7 but Win 8.1 had had a bad update (now pulled). However if you Google "Buggy update Windows 7 August 2014" one or two issues show up. Might be worth waiting a week or two before you try again - Ms "usually" fix them, if applicable.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I did search for it on Yahoo an Google and couldn't find anything. I think I will try and wait, or will install each individually to isolate the issue.

Correction, I used your words and did find some info, thanks for the help. Guess I'll wait a bit until it is corrected

Could be my error. Although I Googled with Win7 in the search, the dubious references were actually to the Win8 updates I mentioned. Have now struck out the appropriate bit in my #1.

I think your idea of waiting a bit then trying them one at a time is a good idea.

set of MS updates (16 total, at 156 MB)

You could try installing them one at a time, and see which one crashes your system.

A bit more.

If you received any of these they have all been pulled, so at least wait for new versions:

KB2970228
KB2975719
KB2975331

Looks like you would be OK to install the others.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

At about the time I posted my last repsonse, I rebooted, and they had pulled them. SO everything is okay for now. Thanks for all the help.
