Is my RECOVERY partition useless now?

April 8, 2011 at 18:33:31
Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium, i3/4GB
I followed the steps to attempt to put my computer back to the factory image but when I get to it, it says it can't detect any back-up images on the drive. There is a RECOVERY partition but it wont access it when I follow the steps for a factory restore so instead I just reinstalled Windows 7 from the CD. Does that mean I cant use my RECOVERY partition anymore since I installed Windows 7 from CD? How do i access the RECOVERY partition to go use the factory image?

How does the owners manual say to restore from recovery partition?

"The era of big government is over," said Clinton 1996

if you deleted the partition, when installing win 7 then your partition is dead and gone, if the partition is still there then you may be able to access it.
an image backup is different from the hidden partition recovery OS, what machine do have?
are you following the correct process?

I still have the recovery partition there. I just reinstalled Windows 7 in the same partition it was in before. I have a Dell Inspiron 1564. I followed the manual and everything.

You can order a restore disk set from Dell. They will normally charge you a small fee, but if you explain the the factory does not work, they may wave the fee if it is still under warranty.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

the f8 option will only install from an image, if you created an image from the win 7 backup and recovery center, once you have your computer just the way you like, create a sytem image, set backup, and create a repair/recovery disk.
then if you need to you can reimage your c; drive with all your proggies and files very fast,
