Solved Is Live Mail prone to viruses

Specs: Windows 7, Intel i73.4GHz/12GB DDR3

When I used Live Mail in WIN 7 Pro 64 bit last year, I noticed I kept getting viruses. I finally did a clean install in Dec 2012 and have been getting my emails off the web, such as my yahoo, gamil, etc. I always found Live mail easier to manage my emails but ever since I stopped using it, I haven't gotten a virus. I never opened up a link, if I didn't know the user, I deleted it. I don't know if it's coincidence or what, but since I have been getting my emails from each individual web based app, it's been good. Has anyone had success with Live Mail with no viruses? Thanks!!!

Hi Veets,

Windows Live mail is a good email client from Microsoft. It helps you manage multiple e-mail accounts.

I have used it for some time and never had any issue.

Ensure that the antivirus and Windows is up to date.

Thanks & Regards

Viruses tend to hit in waves. I don't think there is anything wrong particularly with windows live mail client or the on-line Outlook, you can be unlucky with any service and viruses.

Just coincidence - there's not a way that Windows Live Mail can suck viruses into your computer any more than any other email program. Although it is possible to get a virus via email, most viruses are collected when browsing the internet these days (using Internet Explorer or whatever).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
