Specs: Windows 7, Athlon 1800 MHz/2GB
I have old but sturdy desktop with AMD Athlon XP 2200+ CPU on Asrock K7S41GX motherboard. It runs on 1800 MHz and 2GB DDR 333. It has only one "extra" PCI board in it: FireWire adapter. Everything else is "on-board". I'd like to upgrade to Windows 7, but not sure, if it is compatible. BTW, I won't cry if FireWire doesn't work - I never used it anyway.

Thank you for response. However, Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor was something that I tried first of all. It said that it has no compatibility information for SiS 741GX chipset. Neither did advanced search at Microsoft Windows 7 website show any result for Asrock K7S41GX or SiS 741GX. That is why I turned to user forums. I thought, somebody may have successfully upgraded same hardware configuration as mine.

Well SiS also state beyond XP no support for chipset, not surprising on a 6+ year old chipset !

Works perfectly on the k7s41gx. I have 1GB ram on it, but I think bumping it up to 2GB will work wonders for it. Instead of using the built-in Intel video, I have an old ATI Radeon 9600 card for running the Aero interface.
