Specs: Windows 7
I need to import data from an external barcode scanner into Word, Notepad or Excel. I am not much computer literate and need help. The scanner stores the scanned barcode and quantity. The scanner can be collected to a USB or Ethernet port. I need an application that can read/accept the data from one of those ports. Once the data is on the PC I can import it into one of the applications I mentioned.

I you have done this or know how to do it would you please share with me how this can be done. Thank you in advance.

Thanks, but I wouldn't ask for help if I had the software and you are wrong, some do not come the the application software, like the one I have.

We use one of the major brand scanner. On the ones we use, they connect to the keyboard (or could be usb) but are used as input devices like a keyboard.

Would it help us to know the exact brand.

I have never ever seen a brand new scanner without some software and I have used these for decades.

for one of those.

Usually you open an application and then scan a barcode. The data should go into the application.

It could be that you need to program or even teach the barcode scanner. We have used various code and other printable pages to program them. Usually takes only a few moments. They beep and then go active.
