Solved internet explorer Window pane sizes default

April 11, 2015 at 20:16:14
Specs: Windows 7
I had formatted my Internet Explorer and its resultant pages to always open in a 16:9 format. Not the full screen. About 3/4 of same.
A few days ago the web pages started to open in a smaller square window. I expanded it to the usual 16:9 but whenever I close down it defaults back to that square screen. I was always taught that whatever size one chose that window would be remembered and always open in the size chosen. What do you think has happened.

That is about how I've set up my IE windows, for years, and they lose
the setting pretty frequently. Some webpages seem to do that when
there is an error and the window is closed. But you might be doing it
yourself, too. When you open multiple IE windows, change the size
or position of one of them, and then close the changed window last,
after closing the others, the next time you open IE it will open with the
changed size/position. Sometimes I do that by accident because I
close the wrong window first. If I notice before closing the last window,
a simple way to fix it is to start IE again. It opens with the original
settings. Then I close the changed windows before closing the one
I just opened.

To anyone who is interested my window 'pane' was suddenly restored this morning after its annoying habit of appearing as described above. I had also lost my customised desktop which had been set to change every 24 hours and which had locked up. It also is now behaving itself. Do you reckon I caught a mild viral infection?
