Internet Browsers won't connect. Please Help.

October 29, 2012 at 19:38:09
Specs: Windows 7
All my Browsers don't connect to the internet. I have this problem like 3/4 days.

Opera says: Connection closed by server
Firefox Says: The connection was reset
Google Chrome Says: This Web page is not available

So someone told me to do a System Restore.
But then it says this:

System Restore is not completed. The system files and settings on the computer are not changed.

Details: System Restore could not access a file be obtained Possible is an antivirus software running on the computer. Select the antivirus software temporarily and then run System Restore again.
There is a known error occurred during system restore. (0x80070005)

Thanks for Reading, Greets Melissa.

Hi Melissa,

Firstly, I’d suggest you to uninstall the antivirus program and try to perform a system restore and check if that fixes the issue.

Refer the link below for more on uninstalling programs:
Uninstall or change a program
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/...

If the above steps do not help, try doing a system restore from safe mode and check if that works fine.

Refer the below link for more details on starting your computer in safe mode:
Start your computer in safe mode
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/...

Let us know if this helps!

Thanks & Regards

Hi Melissa,

Kindly let me know the model number of your computer. DO you have a recovery partition on your computer?

If you have not kept the installation DVD or a backup and do not have a Recovery Partition on your PC then I think there is no way you can restore the factory settings.

But if you have kept the original Product Key somewhere then perhaps you can download the Installation DVD from the Net, the same as for your original installation and reinstall Windows 7 from it and use your saved Product Key to activate the OS

Otherwise please go to the vendor from whom you purchased the PC and request him to give you a copy of the Installation DVD.

Thanks & Regards
Debbie B
