intel s5520hc recover bios doesnt work

Specs: Windows XP
while trying to update bios I enabled boot to EFI.NowI get no video and cant recovery bios using procedure. The system was working perfectly fine before my error in judgement. any suggestions?

"If it ain't broke don't fix it" is appropriate here. Updating BIOS is always a risk so it should only be undertaken when it solves a problem or need. Updating because there is a newer one out there is never worth the risk. See if either of these links (below) has any clues or links to anything related to your BIOS author and the EFI related to it. Also look for your manual online (motherboard/BIOS) and see if there are any clues there.

If this is something you enabled before updating, try a clear CMOS.
If this is through a choice of the incorrect BIOS, try using the correct BIOS or original BIOS and 'updating' back to that.
Also note that after a BIOS update you need to reset defaults in your BIOS and save.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

thanks for the info, i was able to clear the cmos and get the system back functional "whew". the reason i attempted the bios change was due to choppy video. nothing i have tried seems to help, good internet, video drivers, 6gb memory etc.. well one thing at a time i'm glad i'm up again thx
