Intel Matrix Storage Event Monitor

Specs: Win 7
After installing Windows 7 the other day, I installed the Intel Matrix
Storage Manager from, which I downloaded
from the ASUS website. Basically it is supposed to be a driver for
my hard drive controllers. I set them up as AHCI in the BIOS. Part
of the installation was iaanotif.exe, which is run at boot from the
Run key in Windows Registry. It is called "Intel Matrix Storage
Event Monitor". I understand that it relays messages to the user
about problems with RAID storage. As I said, my hard drives are
set to AHCI, not RAID. Do I need this file to run at startup? Does
it provide any significant benefit?

I gather it puts any RAID volume changes in Events. Sounds like in your situation it could be disabled in msconfig Startup.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
