There is no upgrade path from XP to Windows 7, when running the Upgrade it "Archives" XP into 'Windows Old' Folder.

Did you run the Upgrade Advisor ??

Easy Tune 6 should have no bearing on installing Windows 7, it is just Gigabyte Software....

Clean install means that you need to back up your personal files to an external drive since they will not be accessible except through this 'old windows' folder. If you do a careful back up and make sure that the files are there and accessible (on that computer and preferably a second computer), you can eliminate the forming of this space wasting file by choosing 'Custom' and 'Partition/Format' during the install and deleting the XP partition and creating and formatting a new partition to install Windows 7 on.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
