Install Win 10 on different partition & dual boot with Win 7

June 13, 2020 at 18:52:48
Specs: Windows 7 SP1, AMD A9
I have a Win7 laptop with multiple applications that I use frequently. I also have a system image file from an identical computer which contains Win10 (fully licenced - and I have the Product Key). Can I "restore" the Win10 OS into a separate partition on the Win7 laptop and set up dual boot?

Thanks for the response, but I'm not sure that it will work. The Win10 is contained within a system backup image file. When this type of file is restored it wants to re-format the whole of the hard disk on the target machine, so I lose my Win7 and all of my applications. Any suggestions on how to overcome this, and to restore the Win10 onto a new partition without losing Win7.

Are you willing to install Win10 without using the image?

I don't have a Win10 installation disc - only the backup image from a broken compute.
