YES, Win 7 doesn't support 16 bit applications but is compliant with 32 bit. Old Win 9X/ME programs may face installation issues but you can try compatibility mode in that case.

I have 32 bit application written with Visual Basic 6, some that started out on Windows 98 over ten years ago, that are working happily on Windows 7 64 bit version.

So 32/64 bit shouldn't be a problem. The only problem there might be is if the application uses some function, especially in relation the the registry, that is different in Windows 7. Windows 7 has some minor differences to the registry that could crash an application that uses them. \however, computability mode should fix that problem,

Recompilation of there application by the author should also fix any problems.

It should also be rememberer that some older 32 bit applications used a 16 bit installation programme. While this will work fin on Windows 98/XP, it will fail on Windows 7. The only person that can sort out that problem is the author.
