Specs: Windows 7
If you have an SSD drive and disable the Windows search function, as is recommended, how then do you find files on your computer?

What you are posting is not clear to me since I have no personal experience about SSD, anyway you can always find your files issuing a dir /S /P Pathname/Filename from the command prompt, e.g.

Start/Run then type cmd.exe and at prompt the above dir command.

Not very nice or friendly but reliable; to know more options type dir /?

You can search for files as you always have. You just don't have a quick lookup index, which you don't really need since SSD response times are so quick.
